You don't "beat around the bush" but come straight to the point with God's word as your sword of truth.Three years ago I resigned as a Deacon and left the Baptist Church where we were so long. The pastor there was "a good ole boy" who played golf with his choice members - hung out at Starbucks - and went fishing with a choice few.
